＊Introduction

‘KENCHIKU｜ARCHITECTURE2011’ is an attempt to introduce Japanese young architects based in Japan towards Europe, and aims to promote the platform for international interdisciplinary exchange among young architects between Japan and European country. It is a series of event : inviting 6 architects from France and Japan to conduct two type of talk session for 3 days intensively.　
‘ARCHITECTURE’ ≒ ‘KENCHIKU’, the word delivers from Europe and translated into Japanese, however it developed separately with different background and urban condition.
Under the theme,‘HOW AND WHERE TO APPLY ARCHITECTURAL THINKING?’, this project examines gap between ‘ARCHITECTURE’ and ‘KENCHIKU’ from the aspect of contemporary architectural scene and evoke possible creative collaboration of ‘KENCHIKU | ARCHITECTURE’ ahead.

 

「KENCHIKU｜ARCHITECTURE2011」は、日本を拠点とする若き建築家をヨーロッパに紹介する試みであり、また日本とヨーロッパとの若き建築家同士が様々な議論や意見交換を行うための場をつくりだすことを目指すプロジェクトです。日本の都市とは大きく異なった様相を見せるパリを開催地とし、日仏各六名の建築家を招き、二種類のトークイベントを三日間にわたって行います。参加建築家による小規模展覧会をあわせて開催します。
「KENCHIKU」という日本語は、ヨーロッパにおける「ARCHITECTURE」の訳語として選ばれた言葉ですが、文化的背景、都市的状況の違いによってそれぞれ独自の発展を遂げたように思われます。本プロジェクトは、日本における「KENCHIKU」とヨーロッパにおけ「ARCHITECTURE」との間に存在する、あるいは各々の言葉の内にも存在するとらえ方の違いを浮かび上がらせ、さらにそれぞれを掛け合わせることによって「KENCHIKU｜ARCHITECTURE」の可能性を問うていくことを目指します。
